3RD LTT in Vasto, Italy

The 3rd LTT – Learning, Teaching, Training activity took place in Vasto, Italy, from the 22nd to the 24th of May 2023 (travel days excluded). The training activities was organised and hosted by the Italian partner Associazione LKL – Let’s Keep Learning and took place at the LKL headquarter, located in Via Salvo D’Acquisto 1, Vasto, Italy and in some areas of the city during outdoor activities.


During the Learning, Teaching, Training activity, participants undertook various training activities and cultural visits related to the project theme.


On the first day of training, Dr. Silvia Tufano explained to the participants the basics of Art Therapy and the technique of ''Quilling'', a particular artistic technique of Turkish origin. Silvia Tufano is an artist, art therapist, pedagogue, writer, social worker, Human Rights Ambassador for Human Watch and designer for Disney and Pixar.


In the afternoon, Dr. Rachele Giammario, a psychologist, psychoanalyst, psychopedagogist, psychomotor therapist and trainer at the University of L'Aquila, discussed with the participants a detailed analysis of success stories always in the field of art and disability.

Finally, the participants were able to attend the exhibition of paintings set up by the artist Davide Scutece, in which the results of his free Painting Course for students under 30 with disabilities were displayed.


On the second day of training, the participants visited the "Pantini Pudente" High School and met the students of the "Pantini-Pudente" Art School - Vasto. It was possible to share with them the premises and objectives of the 'Arts Abled' project and thus art as therapy in disability.


In the afternoon, the participants got to know the associations of ARDA - Associazione Regionale Down Abruzzo and La Tribù dei Sorrisi Onlus, territorial realities in daily contact with children and young people with special needs and their families. The day ended with a visit to the Punta Aderci Nature Reserve.


On the last day of training, the participants collaborated again with Dr. Silvia Tufano, who approached with them ''The art of Storytelling'', illustrating the principles of creative writing and involving them in a workshop using this technique.

The day ended with the awarding of certificates to all participants.

The participants were satisfied with the organization of the event (place, duration, logistical support received before and during the event from the Associazione LKL staff) and with the content.


At the end of the LTT, an attendance certificates have been delivered by hosting organization to all the participants.
